12 years of BOOM in Blue & Gold – An ode to greatness
Paltan, It’s 3rd February – #OnThisDay in 2013, we fixed our “forever date” with THE JASPRIT BUMRAH, who came steaming into आमची #OneFamily.
12 years, 5 trophies and ♾️ ups and downs later, this “relationship” is growing stronger than ever!
So, on this noteworthy day, the Mumbai Indians decided to give an ode to BOOM for everything that he has done for the crest, someone who strives to continue with the same passion, COME. WHAT. MAY.
But first of all, let’s begin this in a typical Chris Martin style… But with a Bambaiyya touch! 😉

Dear National Treasure,
We vividly remember the day when you walked in to the आपलं Wankhede ahead of the 2013 campaign – A rising 🌟 with a unique bowling action destined for success!
Your first match for Mumbai Indians as a 19-year-old teenager – A high-voltage clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and you decide to take Virat Kohli’s wicket to kickstart the proceedings…
From that very moment, we knew we had unearthed a true hidden gem, who, in the years to come, will bully every batting unit that comes his way. 🔥
That season-of-firsts also included our maiden 🏆 at the second time of asking. Now, that we look back at it, we were fortunate enough to have you in the dressing room that was beaming with ecstasy!
Following another successful tournament in 2015, you unleashed Bumrah 2.0 and the cricketing fraternity certainly wasn’t ready for it!
The IPL 2016 witnessed you register 10+ wickets in a single campaign for the first time and since then, it’s all FIRE. It’s Jasprit Bumrah’s world and we are just living in it…
Fast forward to 2020-21, having had 4️⃣ trophies already under your belt, a lethal partnership with Trent Boult saw you guys elevate pace bowling to the next level, taking a combined haul of 52 wickets in 15 innings en route to our FAMOUS FIVE! Talk about the speed of light… ⚡
However, an injury-laden 2023 kept you out of action, only to make a cracking comeback in 2024 – 20 wickets in 13 matches amidst a challenging season. The word “pressure” doesn’t exist in Bumrah’s dictionary!!! 💪
All-in-all, your journey from a “nobody” to a “national treasure” has truly been an inspirational one! Trust us, you are aging like a fine wine and it’s only going to get better and better with each passing day! 💙
